If your Frigidaire dryer produces a hum or a buzz type noise and will not start you more than likely have a failing motor.

Here is a quick way to hopefully get you up and running for a few more cycles. This has worked for me on numerous occasion and has saved my customers countless amounts of money. Frigidaire states the motor should be replaced on dryers with this issue.

This may take two people to accomplish, start by opening the door, depress the door switch and turn the drum manually,at the same time the drum is in motion press the start button, did the drum take off? If so you have a bad motor there is a stall spot on the inside of your motor. If this did not work, you will need to disassemble the dryer gaining access to test for correct voltage to start winding of the motor.

The motor should get 110v to the winding to fire up. If you have the correct supply voltage verified with a volt meter then replace the motor.
