Dryer will run for a minute then shuts down and error E02 appears.

Error code E02 on a Whirlpool Kenmore and Maytag dryer has a faulty thermistor. Where is it and how do I replace it you ask.

Here is how, remove the lower access panel. The lower front panel of the dryer is held on by several either ¼ inch or torx screws.

Once removed to make the process easier, well to get your hands in and work.. You need to remove the lint filter housing To do so remove the few ¼ inch screws that hold it to the blower housing. Once off you will see the thermistor located on the top of the blower house assembly. Remove the screws that hold it down and it will lift up and out. Replace with a new part and reassemble the unit.

Run a short test cycle and you should be in business.

The tech sheet is located on the side panel it has all of the dryers error codes and technical documentation all appliances have them for service related problems, they should be left in place in case a appliance service technician does happen to  need to visit the unit.
