Samsung front load washers are becoming more and more popular in the USA. They make up about 30% of our service work. So we see our fair share of Samsung washer error codes.

The Hr error code is not a common error but we do run across it from time to time. The Hr fault indicates an issue with the heater relay. The relay is soldered onto the main PCB printed circuit board. When the Hr is displayed you can try several things to try and clear the fault before parts are replaced.

How To Fix Samsung Washer Hr Error Code:

1. Unplug the washing machine:

Unplugging the washer for 2-3 minutes may possibly reset the main pcbs control board. If the fault is an electrical glitch, hopefully unplugging the washer for several minutes will reset it. Make sure you leave the washing machine unplugged for at least 2-3 minutes. Leaving it unplugged for several minutes will allow the capacitors on the control board to completely discharge. Once discharged the control board is reset and hopefully the code goes away.

2. Check Connections On PCB:

It’s possible that a connection on the relay itself or the PCB is causing the error code to be displayed. The relay is soldered onto the main control board. Unplug the washer and double check the connections on the control board. I’ve never personally seen it but other technicians have talked about seeing a shorted heater relay wire. If this was my service call, I would remove each wire connection and plug them back in one by one. You can take a picture of the connections but removing them one at a time is just as easy. If you find the heater relay wire shorted, the wire will need to be repaired. I’ve heard some guys say the wire shorted and caused the relay to short as well. In the event that is your case the control board will need to be replaced and the wire connection repaired.

If the above actions do not correct the error code, the main pcb control will need to be replaced. The repair is actually very straight forward. If you’re handy, you can make the repair yourself. The very first thing you want to do is to unplug the washer.

How To Fix Samsung Washer Hr Error Code:

You’ve tried everything to get the Hr fault code to go away. Checked all the wire connections and tried to reset the washer by unplugging it. Now you have realized the main computer board needs to be replaced..

The main control board on Samsung front load washing machines is located on the rear of the machine usually. The board is inside a large plastic housing that protects the control. After the washer has been unplugged you can remove the control board mounting screws and slide the complete control assembly over and out. There’s enough wire to get the front cover off and replace the control.

The repair is actually very straight forward. It’s more time consuming than difficult. If you’re handy, you can make this repair yourself. If you still have questions about you Samsung washer error code, use the comment form below. You can also use the ASK Matt tab at the top of this page.

When a Samsung washing machine displays the error code nF1 an appliance repair technician is not going to be needed. Yes, that is right “NOT” going to be needed. You can fix this error yourself.

I actually seen this problem at least once a month. It’s a fairly common error and there’s not a lot of info about it on line. I wanted to share with you how you can fix this yourself.

If you’re getting this code, your washer is most likely fairly new or brand new.

Samsung Washer nF1 Error Code:

The code in short means the hot and cold water inlet hoses are reversed. Yes, the hoses need to be swapped over. This usually happens during install or when moving the washer to a new location. I’ve seen brand new washing machines display error and machines that are several years old.

The washer will most likely need to come forward to remove the hoses. If your Samsung washing machine is brand new, have the installers come back and reverse the water inlet hoses to fix the nF1 error code on your washer.
